  Cryptorchidism or commonly known “Undescended Testicle” is a condition when a testicle hasn't moved into its proper scrotum before birth. Here are some facts about the condition: • In most of the cases, out of the two, only one testicle is affected by the condition. Most commonly the right side testicle. • However, around ten percent of the cases show that both testicles could be undescended. • If the testicle doesn’t moves into the scrotum by the 3rd months the surgical treatment is required. Ideally testicle should be brought down in the scrotum at 6 months. If there is a accompanying inguinal hernia then early surgery is necessary. • In the cases when the testicles do not move or correct themselves, surgery could be opted to correct the condition Early diagnosis and advanced management of the undescended testicle disease is needed to preserve fertility.
